PSARA licence alone proves very little. These are the questions procurement teams should be asking.
Every security agency in Delhi NCR will show you a PSARA licence. Very few can answer what happens when a guard fails a surprise night check at 3 AM. Start with workforce verification. Ask for the police verification completion rate across the deployed strength, not a sample. Ask how long verification takes from joining to clearance, and what the guard does in the interim. Agencies that deploy unverified personnel on day one are transferring risk to you. Ask about attrition. Industry averages in NCR hover near 40% annually. An agency reporting 12% is either exceptional or not counting correctly. Request the actual roster from six months ago and compare names. Probe the supervision ratio. One supervisor to forty guards across three sites is supervision on paper only. Ask how many surprise checks happened last month, at what hours, and what the findings were. Examine statutory compliance directly. Request PF and ESIC challans for the last three months with employee counts. Compare the count to the deployed strength. Mismatches indicate guards being paid off the books, which becomes your principal-employer liability. Finally, ask what happens when they lose the contract. Professional agencies have documented exit protocols. The rest simply stop showing up.
